11 Dec Island Escapes – Sri Lanka Holidays Part 3
Sri Lanka Holidays
Onwards to part three of my Sri Lanka Holidays.
I was up bright and early to go whale watching as part of my Sri Lanka holidays.
My day started with a private speed boat ride to the deep sea to catch the world’s largest mammals frolicking just off the coast of this magical island. As I waited patiently for a whale or two to cross our path, we were joined by schools of dolphins to keep us company. I was content just with the dolphins until of course we saw a swish and a sway of the distinctive tail end of the elusive whale. The whale did not seem to be bothered by our presence and carried on bobbing in and out of the water as we smiled on in glee.
I was met by a pleasant two hour drive which included long stretches of scenic views bordering jungles, lagoons and the sea and seemingly endless bridges as part of my Sri Lanka holidays to Passikudah.
After a smooth drive I was in the beach resort town of Passikudah. Passikudah is a relatively new resort town which is enjoying the spoils of peace bringing with it much needed development and infrastructure work. I was thrilled to be in this up and coming resort town as part of my Sri Lanka holidays. Passikudah although a remote town has many of the upmarket hotel chains on its shore line. Some of the names include Centara, Uga and Anilana which are big brand hotel chains in this part of the world.
Step into any of these hotels and you will be transported to a 5* level of luxury and service. Passikudah is blessed with serene shores and the service in this area is exemplary. My home for the night was Uga Bay, which was one of the first hotels to call Passikudah home. Uga bay is boutique in its nature with all the five star luxuries within it. A seemingly endless pool and decadent dinners made my stay here, perfect.
So that’s part three of my Sri Lanka holidays. Next up will be all the details on my Passikudah stay as part of my Sri Lanka holidays.
