Ancient, modern and miraculous
It all comes together miraculously in Malaysia… primeval rainforests, ancient world treasures, designer brand pleasures, sumptuous cuisine, orang-utans and east meets west in Kuala Lumpur.
Once, its visitors came for the business of trading spices, silks, rubber and tin ore. Today they also arrive for the pleasures of tropical climes, warm blue seas and beautiful beaches. Malaysia has always been a very special place, with its colourful fusion of cultures, no less than 38 designated marine parks, world class diving, exotic birds and dazzling wildlife.
The magical island of Borneo lies across the South China Sea. Head for Sabah where you will find South East Asia’s highest peak, Mt. Kinabalu, botanical gardens, spectacular flora and fauna, the indigenous proboscis monkey and orang-utans in the wild at Sepilok.
The Underwater Experience
World class diving exists on both the Malay Peninsula and Eastern Malaysia (Sabah). Sabah boasts some world famous diving sites, whilst Mabul and Kapalai feature exciting macro marine life and coral habitats. The island of Sipadan rises from the deep, with barracuda, jacks, white tip reef sharks, hammerheads and turtles. Marine life on the Malay Peninsula includes black tip reef sharks, mantas and huge groupers. Islands include Pulau Tioman (south) and Perhentians (north).
