Let the music play
Its steel drums beat out the unmistakable message that this is Tobago, where a good time will be had by all. Carnival aside, the living is easy, with lots of palm fringed beaches, windsurfing, kite surfing, golf, mountain biking and much to explore, above and below the sea.
The story goes that Tobago was home to Robinson Crusoe. Lucky man, for this outstandingly beautiful island hosts the Western Hemisphere’s oldest protected rainforest, a cornucopia of stunning bird life, exotic flora and fauna, lush green mountains and spectacular waterfalls. Its tropical climate, friendly people and easy pace of life, make this less commercialised Caribbean isle a relaxed and welcoming destination all year round.
Whilst the music plays in the southern part of the island with its lively bars and restaurants, the northern part offers tranquillity with miles of uncrowded beaches and charming fishing villages.
The Underwater Experience
Off the shores of Tobago there’s a complete marine eco-system representative of the Caribbean. The nutrient-rich waters of the Orinoco river provide feeding grounds for hundreds of fish and larger pelagics. The calm dive sites on the Caribbean side are good for beginners whilst the north coast suits more experienced divers. It is common to see eagle rays, hammerheads and giant Atlantic manta rays at various times of year.
