Your 4-night Borneo tour will begin in the city of Sandakan, home to the iconic orangutan and long-nosed proboscis monkey. Here you will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with nature as you cruise the river through the tropical rainforest; you might even encounter the elusive herd of Bornean pygmy elephants!

 

Kuala Lumpur, ‘the city that never sleeps’ and famous for its shopping, nightlife and delicious food will be your next destination for 2-nights. DAY 1: DEPARTURE
Depart from London on your overnight flight to Sandakan, Borneo via Dubai and Kuala Lumpur.

DAY 2: KINABATANGA
Upon arrival at Sandakan airport, you will be transferred to take a boat transfer to Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort. Deluxe Chalet – Half board basis

DAY 3: KINABATANGA
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills and hot Sabah tea or Tenom coffee! At 6.00am, you will go on a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. In the afternoon, you will proceed to have another river cruise for more wildlife sighting. Kinabatangan is home to the famous Bornean pygmy elephants, orangutans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbills in Borneo. Overnight stay at the Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort. DAY 4: KINABATANGA – SEPILOK
After lunch, it is time to make your next journey to Sepilok. You will be going on a one-and-a-half-hour boat ride to the Sepilok Nature Resort, along Sabah’s longest river, the Kinabatangan River. This gives you the opportunity to go bird watching and wildlife-spotting in the virgin mangrove area, wetland and rainforest habitats. Overnight stay at Sepilok Nature Resort Sandakan. DAY 5: SEPILOK
Today you will visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Rest of the day at leisure so you can take this opportunity to explore the nearby Rainforest Discovery Centre or maybe make it to Sandakan town for lunch and try its gastronomic offerings! DAY 6: SEPILOK – SANDAKAN – KUALA LUMPUR
Transfer to Sandakan airport for your onward flight to Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you will be transferred to Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur (5*) hotel. Executive Room – Bed and breakfast basis With frequent sales events throughout the year, Kuala Lumpur is a shoppers paradise for labels from all around the world, so be sure to enjoy some shopping time. Likewise, with every imaginable gourmet delight available in abundance from hawker stalls, cafes and restaurants, you will spoilt for choice when it comes to food!

DAY 7: KUALA LUMPUR (KL HERITAGE WALK & KL TWIN TOWERS TOUR)
After breakfast, you will begin your day with a tour around the KL Heritage Walk. During this tour, you will get to see important KL landmarks, such as Masjid Jamek, the Central Market, Little India and Chinatown. This tour will give you plenty of opportunities to work on your street photography, sample delicious street food and do some souvenir shopping. In the afternoon, after lunch, you will resume your day tour with a trip to the Petronas Twin Towers. During this tour, you will get to enjoy the view over the city from the Twin Towers bridge. An internationally recognised masterpiece, this iconic tower powerfully captures the aspirations of a nation hurtling into the future. DAY 8: KUALA LUMPUR – BALI
After breakfast transfer to Sandakan airport to board your flight to Bali. On arrival you will be transferred to Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort (5*) for a relaxing 5 night beach stay. Staying in an Anantara Suite on bed and breakfast basis.
